Italian tooling company Persico SpA has expanded into Germany and formed a partnership for the automotive market with WIS Tooling GmbH, based in Emsdetten, Germany. The alliance with WIS started in July and initially focuses on back foaming tools.
Persico of Nembro, Italy, said it aims to improve its presence in the German market, particularly in back foaming tools for interior and exterior components, such as instrument panels, doors, center consoles, bumpers and under shields. It will also promote other product areas: trimming/punching tools and detection machines for interior and exterior components.
The company has set up Persico Deutschland, which started operations on 1 September close to Düsseldorf.
WIS, which in addition to foaming tools also makes thermoforming tools and coupling tools, said the partnership with Persico will allow it to be represented more internationally, with the two companies now able to offer complete systems to automotive customers. The company is a subsidiary of Josef Weischer GmbH & Co. KG
Stephan Weischer, managing director of WIS Tooling, said: “Our two companies have enjoyed a long-lasting relationship on management level. This creates great confidence. It is a big opportunity for us to be represented on important markets, which we did not have access till now.”
Pierino Persico, president of Persico, said: “WIS Tooling is the perfect partner for us. WIS Tooling complements our product portfolio ideally. There are almost no overlaps. It is the occasion to close the gaps in our portfolio and to be able to offer complete systems, also in order to be closer to our German clients. That is what our clients want.”
The two companies will continue to act independently in other areas. Persico also has a mold and machinery business for the rotational molding market. |
