Venture Plastics Inc. added a 720-ton press and an overhead crane to its El Paso, Texas, facility.
Venture Plastics Inc. expanded its El Paso, Texas, custom molding facility in early summer to grow sales.
The operation, called Southwest Venture Plastics, added a 720-ton injection press and an overhead crane to boost productivity.
“We have increased business and new customers so we needed more capacity,” said Venture vice president of sales and marketing Bryon Osborne in a phone interview. The new machine boosts Southwest Venture’s press count to 16 and follows the 2013 installation of a 950-ton press, which now is the largest at the Texas site.
“We have had sustained growth since 2008,” Osborne said.
Venture established the 48,000-square-foot El Paso plant in 2006 to more closely meet customer needs and to cut freight costs. Osborne said El Paso has enough room to add as many as five more presses.
Venture, based in Newton Falls, Ohio, has a 75,000-square-foot facility there with 20 presses with clamps up to 720 tons.
Venture’s 2013 sales were about $32 million, according to Plastics News’ recent injection molders survey. It supplies industrial, consumer, appliance, vehicle, agricultural, communications and other markets.
Its secondary services include engineering and project management, structural foam molding, overmolding and insert molding, decorating, plating, welding and assembly. The company has been in business for more than 40 years. |
